Play Card Games with Friends Online in Your Browser, No App, No Account

Play Spades, Hearts, Euchre and Crazy 8s with friends online, free, in any browser: start a table, send a six-character code or a link, and the table waits for them.

You can play Spades, Hearts, Euchre and Crazy 8s with friends online right now, free, in any browser, without installing anything or creating an account: one of you starts a table, sends the code, and the table waits for the rest.

Here is the whole thing on one page: what you need, how a table works, which game to pick for how many of you, and what happens when real life interrupts.

What do we need?

A browser. Phone, tablet, laptop or desktop, any of them. There is no download, no plug-in and no account, and nothing on the website is for sale. If someone at your table has the Card & Puzzle app, they sit at the same table from the app.

How does a table work?

  1. Start a table. Open the game, tap Friends, then Start a table. The game shows a six-character code and a link.
  2. Invite. Paste the link into your group chat, or tell people the code. The link opens the table directly. The code goes into Join with a code on the game’s page.
  3. Take your seats. A table has four seats in Spades, Hearts, Euchre and Crazy 8s. Seats nobody takes are played by the computer, so two of you can start, and a third can join the next table.
  4. Play now. Everyone plays at the same time, start to finish. Each turn has a 30-second clock. If someone drops, their seat is held for a minute and then a computer player takes over, so the match always finishes.
  5. Play again. The host starts the next table and the same link works for the next match.

The computer players are the Card & Puzzle regulars, sixteen named players with their own styles, and they are always marked at the table so nobody mistakes one for a person.

How long does a match take?

You choose before the first deal. A quick Spades match to 200 is done in about fifteen minutes, the long game to 500 can stretch to an hour. Hearts to 50 is three or four hands, to 100 is twenty to thirty minutes. A Euchre hand is two minutes and a match to 10 points about fifteen. Crazy 8s to 100 is around ten minutes. Yatzy by turns takes as long as your week does.

What can we say to each other?

The games have Table Talk, a short list of preset phrases you can send at the table, and nothing to type. That is by design: nobody at a table can type anything to anyone. Most groups keep a voice or video call open on the side, or just use the group chat the invite went into.

Where is my progress kept?

Your matches, stats and settings are saved on your device. Sign in with Google or Apple if you want them on every device, and the same sign-in works in the Card & Puzzle app. Nothing about a table requires it.

Can we play a daily deal instead?

If your group is never free at the same time, play the same daily deal. Every day at midnight Pacific time each game gets one deal that everyone plays. Follow each other and the Friends leaderboard shows just your group on the identical hand. Today’s daily games are here.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does anyone need to sign up for anything?

Not for a table. You start it, the others open your link or type your code, and they are seated. No account, no email, no download. The one exception is Yatzy by Take turns: a game runs over days, so each player signs in with Google or Apple to keep their seat, and the game is started in the Card & Puzzle app. Signing in anywhere else is optional and only keeps your own progress on your devices.

Can we play on a mix of phones and laptops?

Yes. A table is one table on the server. One person on a phone in a browser, one on a laptop, one in the Card & Puzzle app: everyone sees the same cards and the same clock.

Is there a time limit per turn?

Yes, 30 seconds. It keeps the table moving without rushing anyone, and the game plays a sensible card for a player whose clock runs out, so one slow phone never stalls four people.

What happens when someone leaves in the middle?

Their seat is held for a minute so they can reconnect. If they do not come back, one of the computer players takes the seat and the match finishes for everyone else.

Can we change the rules at our table?

Each game has its house rules, chosen by whoever starts the table: the target score in Spades and Hearts, the jack of diamonds in Hearts, the action-card rules in Crazy 8s, stick the dealer in Euchre. Everyone at the table plays by the host's settings.
